چکیده
The solidified landfill disposal of hazardous solid waste such as electroplating sludge in arid/semi-arid areas has potential risks and hazards. In this study, the electrochemical method was used to destroy structures metal complexes release ions so that organics were removed by direct mineralization anode while recovered cathode. A SnO2/Ti electrode during electrolysis process. effect different current densities (10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 A/m2), pH values (2, 3, 4, 5, 6), presence chloride (0.1 or 0.2 M NaCl) sulfate Na2SO4) on treatment investigated. Under optimal conditions (current density = 50 A/m2, 3), removal rates CODCr, TOC, Ni2+ reached 88.01%, 85.38%, 97.57%, respectively, with a recovery 97.01%. Further studies showed active chlorine persulfate generated had less organics, hydroxyl radicals played major role. dilution leachate would be detrimental treatment. by-products organic chlorination produced low amounts, mainly CHCl3. This can treat various recover valuable metals removing pollutants, complying concept sustainable development. provides new solution for metal-containing from perspective practical application.

Treatment of Electroplating Wastes
~sing of the environment, the electroplating industry is likely to be one of the industries to be affected by the introduction of the water pollution control legislation in Hong Kong. The effect may be even more pronounced for the operators of small and medium-sized electroplating factories since they are unlikely to have any expertise in pollution control and will therefore require outside tec...

copper and nickel recovery from electroplating sludge by the process of acid-leaching and electro-depositing
in this work, we developed a method which combined the processes of acid-leaching, ammonium jarosite precipitating and electro-depositing to recover copper and nickel from electroplating sludge. residual sludge from an electroplating plant located in qingdao was used for acid-leaching, and more than 95% of copper, nickel, zinc, chromium and iron were extracted from the sludge. after acid-leachi...

Biological treatment ofhazardous wastes has the potential for effective, practical, and economical remediation ofsome Superfund sites and other hazardous waste problems. Some biological hazardous waste treatments may also be applicable for preventing the occurrence of future hazardous waste sites. From a public health perspective, this technology may allow for the treatment of environmental haz...
